I recently visited a site because of its link on another site that I visit regularly for news and comment. The site, in particular, can be viewed at this URL:

While I'm not encouraging anyone to visit this site, it might serve to amuse you for the day and give you something for your office "water cooler moment."

Let me provide a quick summation of the site

The US dollar is worthless! This has come about because of the blatant disregard of the Constitution by our elected leaders .

The US is headed for the greatest meltdown in history and the dollar at that point will be useless. This is because the US long ago abandoned the Gold standard and there is nothing backing the dollar. (He gives some good explanation as to how this is true, as well as a lot of good points.)

The site will send you a "free" book to guide you and give you the principles to ride through this time of financial turmoil. As the dollar is worthless, you need to know how to make it in these trying times.

Now the absurdity...

How do you get the "free" book? All you need to do is subscribe to the newsletter FOR $79 dollars!!! These are the same worthless dollars that the site has been telling us we need to avoid!!!

If you don't want the newsletter, you can get the "free" book by paying $99.95 (plus $6.95 shipping and handling).

I wonder, since the dollar is worthless can we design and print our own money with which to pay?
